Target Audience: Ages 9-13

Function: JEX is designed to instill and enhance students’ reading habits by providing a variety of interesting and relevant articles and exercises. It is a great source of edutainment that can be used by students independently, alongside use as a classroom reader for more intensive reading development.

Level/CEFR: Articles use graded language for distinct levels, from A1 (Starter) to B1 (Intermediate).

Content Overview: JEX contains current and informative reading materials from a wide range of topics and genres. Length of the articles varies to match the reader’s level and ability. A glossary section is included at the end of each article to explain difficult, unusual or technical terms.

Content examples: The articles are written based on the themes below to cater for readers with different interests:

• Sports and hobbies

There are also fun language exercises and games, such as ‘Word Search’ and ‘Spot the Differences’ included in the magazine.
